BookMyShow, a Big Tree Entertainment, company is acquiring a majority stake in event Social Media aggregator company Eventifier for over $2 million or roughly Rs. 12 crore in all cash deal. Eventifier, a social media chatter aggregation tool was conceptualized by Jazeel Badur Ferry, Nazim Zeeshan and Mohammed Saud in 2012 during a hackathon organized by the Startup Center.
Eventifier is a tool that helps event organizers create social media archives of their events. Eventifier’s solution is primarily used to consolidate, track and analyse content feed on social media platforms generated during a targeted social media campaign.
Post the deal with BookMyShow, Eventifier is expected to retain its brand and operate as a separate entity and will be looking to provide an end-to-end social media platform, looking into BookMyShow’s movie-tickets data to provide brands an extended outreach using analytics and marketing.
The deal will see the current investors Kae Capital, Accel Partners and The Startup Centre exit the company. Eventifier had earlier raised more than Rs 3 crore in seed and venture capital from investors Kae Capital and Accel Partners.
