What was once a concept, today it has become a reality. In 2012, Oculus initiated a Kickstarter campaign to fund Rift’s development. The project proved successful that In less than 24 hours, its goal was already reached. The company raised US$2.5 million and in March 2014,  Facebook purchased Oculus for $2 billion.

This rise of Oculus Rift was not just about the company or a product, but it has also pushed the Virtual Reality (VR) market to a whole new level.  Today, as VR continues to innovate with new experiences, gaming on VR is also becoming something really popular. Talking about other products, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR are also two big players in the VR market that offers some of the best video games to be played on their product.

Beat Saber is a rhythm game where the player slashes colour-coded blocks to the beat of the music playing in the background. How to play? The game needs to be played using two motion controllers and they need to swipe in the air vertically or horizontally according to the way the player wants to slash the beats.

Currently, Beat Saber is available on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows VR headsets (early access), and on PSVR. This rhythm has gained a lot of popularity recently and now it is one of the best games for VR headsets.

Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox video game created by Swedish game developer Markus Persson and released by Mojang in 2011. With its arrival in VR, it has become one of the most popular VR games. The plot of the game is something like this: the kids’ dog goes missing and, on the way, to finding the dog, you have to help and defend the kids. Even though it might be a little expensive but that’s worth the VR experience the game delivers.

Released in June 2016 for Windows and November 2017 for PS4, Rec Room is a VR video game developed and published by Against Gravity. It’s not been a long time and this game has quickly gained a lot of popularity. Designed primarily as a social experience, Rec room has a lot of people on the mic, therefore consider taking part in the chatter yourself. The game doesn’t have a lot to explore, however, it still has a separate fan base.
