The 7th edition of AIMinds wrapped up in Bengaluru with a bang. On Saturday, June 15, data scientists and enthusiasts of all skill levels gathered at the Tredence office for a get together that will be rivalled by few. The theme of the meetup was, Transitioning From Traditional Analytics To Modern AI and it was attended by more than 90 data scientists.

Shashank Dubey spoke about his experience in working with analytics and data science industry for more than a decade. He also elaborated on how to retain and acquire customers for AI products, going on to reveal how to provide the correct assistance and solutions to clients when they are in need of it.
Aravind Chandramouli talked about how machine learning and data science problems should be approached. He also stressed how the role of the data scientist has been changing for decades and how it always existed under different names. He went on to talk about how companies and data science managers should not consider domain knowledge as a criterion when it comes to hiring new employees.
Wasimakram Binnal talked about using data science and machine learning in the field of macroeconomics. He gave insightful examples of how data was leveraged to build tools for Kabbage on top macroeconomic data from the US which gave them many advantages over the long term. He also dived deep into the domain of financial analytics and fielded queries from attendees.
The meetup was a heavily interactive session, with the attendees speaking up and sharing their opinions with the speakers. Shoaib, an attendee who travelled from Hyderabad to attend the meetup said, “This was a great meetup and the best data science meetup I attended till date. The discussions and sessions were really enlightening.”
