The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mappls MapmyIndia to integrate Delhi Metro data into the Mappls app, enabling commuters across Delhi-NCR to access real-time metro information.

As part of the agreement, over 35 million Mappls app users will be able to view detailed information about metro routes, nearby stations, fares, line changes, train frequencies, and estimated travel times directly within the app. The integration aims to improve commuter planning and ease of navigation across the network.

Dr Vikas Kumar, managing director, DMRC, said, “Delhi Metro is committed to enhancing commuter convenience through innovation and technology. The integration of DMRC’s metro data with the Mappls app will make travel across NCR smarter and seamless — enabling commuters to plan better, navigate easily, and save time.”

Rakesh Verma, co-Founder, managing director, and group chairman of MapmyIndia, said, “Soon the DMRC data will get integrated into the multi-modal transport feature of the Mappls app, making travel across the Delhi NCR faster, smarter, and seamless.

Verma added that the collaboration reinforces Mappls’ role as India’s leading location technology provider and aligns with the vision of developing indigenous, world-class technology for an “Aatmanirbhar Viksit Bharat.”

The MoU with DMRC follows a recent announcement by the minister for railways, electronics and IT,  Ashwini Vaishnaw, about a similar agreement between Indian Railways and Mappls MapmyIndia.

The integration will also connect with Mappls’ Traffic and Public Engagement Platform, allowing users to locate nearby government services, get optimised routes, and report civic issues such as congestion, accidents, parking problems, or waterlogging. Reported data will be shared instantly with relevant authorities for quicker response and better traffic management.

According to DMRC, the initiative is part of its broader effort to promote transparency, accessibility, and smarter urban mobility through technology partnerships.
