Oracle Launches ‘Oracle Alloy’ to Reveal the Power of Cloud to Masses

The new offering enables global organisations and partners to become cloud providers and offer cloud services built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to their own customers

Multinational IT firm Oracle on Wednesday launched Oracle Alloy to bring the power of the cloud to the masses. The new offering would enable organisations to become cloud providers offering services built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to their own customers.

With the new cloud infrastructure platform, organisations such as financial institutions or telecommunications providers can offer cloud services to meet the specific needs of industry verticals. The platform can be independently used in their own data centres and fully control its operations to help address specific regulatory requirements.

Oracle India’s vice president-technology (cloud) Kapil Makhija said, “In India, we have witnessed a massive cloud acceptance wave where it has almost become synonymous with innovation for organisations across sectors. However, as businesses understand cloud, they also come up with varied needs and specifications depending upon the market or vertical they exist in.”

Various service providers, integrators, and ISVs partner with OCI to provide applications tailored to specific industries, markets, and government stipulations. The company claims that Oracle Alloy will enable them to become cloud providers and innovate faster with more control and customisation.

“At Oracle, we recognize this and are aligned with providing the utmost level of control and choice to our customers, therefore we have brought a revolutionary product in the form of Oracle Alloy,” added Makhija.

The platform would offer the same 100+ infrastructure and platform services that are available in OCI’s public cloud. As a result, partners can go to market with a pre-integrated hardware and software platform deployed in their own data centres.
Accenture Cloud First’s Global Strategy lead David Wood commented, “We are excited about Oracle’s vision to allow its partners and customers to further manage and customise cloud resources, which will provide broader access to public cloud innovation across the cloud continuum. Accelerating cloud adoption, while also supporting our clients’ unique industry and regulatory needs will create new kinds of business value.”
