The meetup was well attended by data scientists and enthusiasts in Kolkata and even some outside the city. There were many attendees who came looking for guidance on how to switch to a career in data science and analytics.
Mr. Karmakar talked about how data science practice is structured in companies and how data scientists work on many use cases. He also went onto underline many customer stories and how they were benefitted by using analytics and data science.
Mr. Bhattacharya’s talk focussed on specific areas where young students and early career candidates should work on to make a career in data science. He also told the attendees that domain expertise and application of common sense is important to succeed in a data science career.
Mr. Sen who heads the School of Computing & Analytics at NSHM Knowledge Campus gave a summary of all the tasks and industries a data scientist works in the modern day workforce. He went onto show many live projects and research areas the faculty at NSHM are working on.
