Alibaba cloud

Alibaba Cloud will be hiring 5,000 employees globally this fiscal year to enhance its products and services further. Being the leader in cloud infrastructure services spending in China with 46.4 per cent of the total market spending, the company has now planned to expedite the digitalisation by hiring talents across a wide range of domain such as database, servers, networking, chips, and artificial intelligence.

Founded in 2009, Alibaba quickly gained traction and has now data centres across 63 zones in 21 regions. Of the 63, the company has two data centres in India. According to Gartner, Alibaba is the biggest cloud computing service provider in the APAC region.

“The digital transformation journey for businesses in China, which was previously expected to take three to five years, is now likely to be accelerated to be completed within one year,” said Jeff Zhang, President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence. “To move forward in full speed, we are not only building trusted cloud technologies and services but also investing in worldwide IT talents who are pioneering the development of cutting-edge cloud and data intelligence technologies,”

“In the light of the fast-growing demand of digital shift from global clients in all sectors, we are continuing with our commitment to offering world-class cloud services,” said Zhang.

Alibaba actively strives to hire and develop talents for which it had established the Alibaba DAMO Academy in 2017. It extracts various technology enthusiasts from around the world for advancing research for the company in verticals such as machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, internet of things, among others.

Over the years, Alibaba has produced some of the advanced solutions such as speech AI, image search, and CT image analytics for its customers. Now, with another 5,000 new talents, the company will double down on its cloud computing initiatives to expand its business as well as offer superior services to its clients.
