He holds a Ph.D in Economics. Earlier he was working at NCAER, New Delhi as Consultant, New Delhi for over a decade. Worked across several verticals like Banking &Finance, Agriculture, Public Service, Manufacturing & Media. Work profile mainly involved rigorous empirical analysis/ predictive analytics with large data sets using Marketing Mix Modeling ,Two Stage Least Square(2SLS) , Discontinuous Regressions, Decision Trees (using CHAID/CART), Discrete Choice Models (Multinomial/ Probit & Logit), Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Models, Difference-in Difference technique, Propensity Score Matching, Linear Programming techniques, Principal Component Analysis ,Social/ Cost Benefit Analysis, construction of Social Account Matrix (SAM), Multiplier Analysis & other econometric tools. Worked on corporate databases like Bloomberg, capital line and also time series DGCIS data on trade.He has published several papers in international & national journals and also editorial page articles in prominent national newspapers.
