Joining the league of big companies who vouch by the immense opportunities that Internet of Things has brought, Bajaj Electricals has stepped in to explore the potential of IoT based products.
Believing in the fact that consumers are more than eager to explore the new world of opportunities, one of the biggest electrical appliances companies has decided to embark upon the new journey by upgrading to next level of lighting. Their tryst with digitization in the form of Integrated Building Management System and LED lighting solutions will offer big surprises to its customers.
The company attributes its decision of venturing into IoT as a part of their commitment to offer the best to the customers.
It is this inspiration that led Bajaj Electricals to explore the latest concept in technology that connects everyday devices with internet network. The company believes that is would allow these devices to interact with each other and exchange data.
If reports are to be believed, it has already tied partnership with the networking major Cisco and Gooee to bring out the best offerings. The company has also participated in government’s project to develop 100 smart cities.
“In its endeavor for creating smart City solutions, Bajaj Luminaires has tied up with Cisco for smart outdoor lighting solutions and UK’s Gooee for IoT enabled lighting systems,” the company said.
With its Luminaries division, the company plans to exploit the opportunities and with smart city projects, it expects to explore more room for growth. While addressing the shareholders in annual reports, Bajaj Electricals CMD Shekhar Bajaj had said that IoT is poised to usher in another revolution in lifestyles.
“The Indian consumer is not only ready, but eager to evolve into this new world of possibilities as the country marches confidently ahead on its economic highway of growth.”

The company is looking to expand its offerings into mass and as well as premium segment. It believes that the demand for premium segment consumer appliances would go up in future as the income level of both urban and semi urban households is expected to go up.
It is interesting to note that Bajaj firm had in the last fiscal extended its trademark user license agreement with UK-based electrical appliance maker Morphy Richards, under which it offers its premium range products. As a result of it the consumers would have a choice to pick exactly the products available in the European markets.
Bajaj Electricals had earlier opened up an IoT center in its Mumbai office with a focus on offering solutions to customers in both B2B and B2C segment.
