Cloud computing company Nutanix has unveiled new capabilities in the Nutanix Cloud Platform that simplify data management and improve database and big data workload performance for mission-critical applications.
The Nutanix Cloud Platform will provide unstructured data tiering from on-premises to cloud, as well as Nutanix Data Lens, a new unstructured data governance service, with up to 2x storage performance increase for database workloads and 3x for big data workloads without requiring complex reconfiguration.
“Customers want a range of ways to store data, both structured and unstructured, and they want to be able to manage it without having to rely on several vendors. The Nutanix Cloud Platform’s new features bring our data-centric innovation to high-performance applications, resulting in a single platform with full data services for all workloads and data types,” says Rajiv Mirani, Chief Technology Officer at Nutanix.
Furthermore, database service Nutanix Era now supports database engines such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle Database in hybrid multi-cloud settings with one-click storage scaling and rich role-based access control.
In addition to these, Citrix Systems and Nutanix have teamed up to help their clients deliver it. Through Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and hybrid multi-cloud deployments of Citrix DaaS and Virtual Apps and Desktops services, the two companies are announcing a strategic partnership to provide secure, on-demand, and elastic access to apps, desktops, and data from any device, in any location, at any scale.
“Organisations are still looking for IT solutions that can support the agility, flexibility, and dependability that a hybrid workforce requires. Nutanix and Citrix, working together, can deliver remote work solutions that can be deployed across private and public clouds, combining the simplicity of the Nutanix Cloud Platform, powered by industry-leading HCI software, with Citrix Virtual Apps and DesktopsTM services to empower workers, wherever they happen to be”, says Tarkan Maner, Chief Commercial Officer at Nutanix.
Likewise, Nutanix announced new capabilities in the Nutanix Cloud Platform, including the release of AOS version 6 software, to aid organisations in creating modern, software-defined data centres and accelerating hybrid multi-cloud deployments. Enterprises will gain robust built-in virtual networking, enhanced disaster recovery, and simplified zero-trust security as a result of these new features, which would otherwise necessitate additional specialised hardware, software, and skills.
