Cloudflare, a cybersecurity and internet infrastructure company, recently announced that its Workers Launchpad Funding Program, initially launched in September this year at $1.25 billion, has now grown to a potential investment of $2 billion for startups building on Cloudflare Workers, a developer platform to deploy serverless code instantly across the globe.
With over a million developers using Cloudflare Workers and application services for creating and maintaining applications, the programme has been gaining traction. It has garnered substantial investment from VCs around the world with an extra $750 million added to the initial fund in less than two months.
Out of hundreds of applicants from over 30 countries, the best 25 entrepreneurs will be included in the fall cohort. The finalists also include Apyfy, a data privacy platform, and Grafbase, an organisation accelerating backend software development.
Applicants part of the cohort will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual boot camp with sessions led by Cloudflare leaders and VC partners, pitch VC partners for investment, receive technical guidance and assistance, and present their companies during a Demo Day.
The first cohort is live now, with Patr, an India-based company, working on deploying and scaling applications in 60 seconds, among the finalists.
The Workers Launchpad cohort occurs on a quarterly basis, and the applications for the next cohort are open, for which startups interested in building on Cloudflare can apply here.
