In a blog post yesterday, Twitter Inc announced the launch of their most requested ‘Edit Tweet’ feature for its paid subscribers this month. The feature will allow users to modify already published tweets. It is still in the testing phase conducted internally by Twitter. The platform expects to expand this feature to its ‘Twitter Blue’ subscribers in the coming weeks.
The social media platform updated its numerous users on the progress of the edit feature via a quirky tweet.

Twitter users have consistently requested the platform for this feature to fix typos, add missing tags and more to their already published tweets.
In this test, the tweets will be able to be edited a few times in the 30 minutes following their publication. Upon editing, these tweets will appear with an icon or a label to acknowledge the modifications made to the original tweet. Users can also tap on the label to view the tweet’s ‘Edit History’, which will consist of past versions of the said tweet.
To help protect the integrity of the conversation, the time limit and version history are expected to play a crucial role in creating a publicly accessible record of opinions expressed originally in published tweets.
Like any new feature, the team is testing the ‘Edit Tweet’ feature with a smaller group to incorporate feedback while simultaneously identifying and resolving potential issues—which includes possible scenarios of how the feature may be misused once introduced across the platform.
