The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in association with TalentSprint has announced the launch of a ten-month Advanced Program in Computational Data Science.
This program will equip current and aspiring data scientists, along with data engineers, data analysts and data architects, the latest expertise to lead the workforce of the future. The advanced program will be led by a team of leading faculty and experts from an interdisciplinary background who will teach live and interactive online classes and mentor participants to solve data science problems.
The program will further allow enrollees to build a personal portfolio of data stories to showcase on their career profiles and allow them to connect with TalentSprint’s network of deep-tech professionals from across the world. The first cohort of the program will start in January 2021 and will be accepting 50 professionals from India, APAC and the Middle East.

With data being the current vital asset, data science is transforming businesses and societies at an unprecedented pace. In fact, according to IDC, the worldwide data will grow to 175 zettabytes by 2025, an explosion which has disrupted every business and industry, especially over the last two years. Thus, the ability to collect, clean, manage and analyse complex data sets to design, build and deploy solutions that offer valuable insights is becoming critical for professionals who wish to thrive in today’s hyper-digital economy. Moreover, according to another report by WEF, data scientists and analysts will be the top emerging jobs in the world by 2022.
Therefore announcing this program was a right move for the current era. According to Dr Sashikumaar Ganesan, the chair of the department of computational and data sciences (CDS) at IISc and program dean, “CDS at IISc is a first-of-its-kind interdisciplinary department to focus on research at the intersection of computer science and data science.”

Over the last five years, IISc’s PhD and M.Tech programs have attracted the best students from around the world. “We are very pleased to partner with TalentSprint and jointly offer this executive program to working professionals who wish to capitalise on the data science wave sweeping through the industry,” said Dr Ganesan.
With this program, the participants will be able to practice on a variety of industry case studies and capstones, including the opportunity to bring their own projects and get mentored to solve them. Another unique feature of our program — data stories will help the participants to demonstrate their expertise on their career profiles, for the benefit of current and future employers.
“At TalentSprint, we build unique executive education programs to solve the most challenging and pertinent problems. All our programs, in collaboration with top-tier academia, have consistently reported extremely high participant satisfaction,” said Dr Santanu Paul, the co-founder and CEO of TalentSprint while speaking on the partnership. “The Advanced Program in Computational Data Science with IISc has been carefully designed to help industry professionals re-orient and reboot their careers in tune with the opportunities in a post-pandemic, hyper-digital economy.”
According to Dr Paul, this is the first data science program in the country to be explicitly designed to enable, equip and empower the workforce of the future. The applications for enrolling into Advanced Program in Computational Data Science, for the first cohort, will be starting in January 2021.
