Intel announces 7 new 12th Gen Intel Core HX mobile processors

The 12th Gen Intel Core HX processors offer 65 per cent more performance in multi-threaded workloads with more cores and more memory.

Chipmaker Intel has announced seven new mobile processors for its 12th Gen Intel Core mobile family at the Intel Vision 2022 event held on May 10. The processor was built using desktop-caliber silicon in mobile packaging for improved performance to fasten the pace in CAD or Computer-aided design tasks, animation and visual effects. The company said that the new processors would be available in Core i5, Core i7 and Core i9 models. 

Aside from helping businesses and production companies to work faster and save budgets, the new processors can also be used as platforms for the growing number of gaming enthusiasts on mobile phones.

“With the new core architecture and higher power limits of 12th Gen Intel Core HX processors, we’re enabling content creators to tackle the most demanding workflows like never before – for example, executing 3D renders in the background while continuing to iterate on other 3D assets in the scene. No more waiting around for processor-intensive workloads to finish; you can stay in the flow,” Chris Walker, general manager of the company’s mobility client platforms, said in a statement that was released. 

Walker added that members of the gaming community and content creators would be able to use high-bandwidth platform technologies like PCle Gen 5 with RAID support, as well as support for ECC memory to help ensure high levels of system data integrity and dependability.

The 12th Gen Intel Core HX processors offer 65 per cent more performance in multi-threaded workloads with more cores and more memory. The processors have approximately 16 cores (8 Performance-cores and 8 Efficient-cores) and 24 threads running at a processor power base of 55 watts.
