The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) if offering a free course on artificial intelligence for aspirants. However, the course is specifically designed for postgraduate students. Nevertheless, anyone interested in AI can enrol for free. Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Minister of Human Resource Development, on 3rd May, shared the link of the AI course on Twitter that is offered through SWAYAM — an initiative by the government for providing life-long learning. Till date, more than 15 thousand learners have enrolled in the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course.
The 15-week long course is devised to provide comprehensive learning for aspirants. Split into 36 modules, the course covers almost all the techniques in AI, thereby making it a must for learners. Every module has E-Text and Self Learning section, which will cater to a wide range of learners. While the E-Text is a PDF file that can be used for someone who prefers reading while learning, the Self Learning section contains video lessons. Since the course is completely free, PDF on E-Text section can be downloaded for later use too. The enrollment for the next session will end on 8th May, thus, you should not miss the opportunity to advance your skillset. The exam date for the previous season which was started on 13 Jan is on 10 May. Post which, you can expect the start of the next session.
Learners can leverage this platform to enhance their skill during the lockdown and start their career in the AI landscape. While the courses were already free, the government is trying to promote its initiative during the crisis and encouraging citizens to leverage the time they are getting due to the lockdown and upskill in the latest technologies. Over the past few days, Pokhriyal is tweeting numerous courses like graphic designing, and other engineering-related courses that are hosted on SWAYAM.
