Microsoft-owned professional networking platform LinkedIn has recently introduced a new feature allowing users to generate AI-based posts by using a concise 30-word prompt.
Once you provide an outline of the content you wish to share in the designated post section, the generative AI system will produce an initial draft within seconds. You can then review, edit, and enhance the text before ultimately clicking the “post” button.
In a post introducing the feature, Keren Baruch, chief product officer, emphasised the importance of responsible AI in this new feature stating that LinkedIn is dedicated to gathering feedback and conducting extensive testing to refine the user experience and address any concerns.
Additionally, LinkedIn extended the use of AI beyond post writing assistance by introducing an AI-powered tool to aid marketers. Leveraging OpenAI models, this powerful tool generates multiple versions of an advertisement by analysing data extracted from the marketer’s LinkedIn page and Campaign Manager configurations.
Earlier, LinkedIn also launched AI-powered writing suggestions for profile enhancement and job description writing. These features utilise GPT-4 for personalised profiles and GPT-3.5 for job descriptions. Additionally, LinkedIn is placing a greater emphasis on AI in its learning platform, offering 100 courses on the subject and introducing 20 new courses specifically focused on generative AI. The AI-powered writing prompts for profiles will initially be available to Premium users and aim to assist individuals who struggle to craft compelling overviews of their experiences, enabling the AI to transform their input into a more polished narrative.
However, LinkedIn has been utilising AI and automation behind the scenes for a while now. Now, with Microsoft’s strong support of OpenAI, AI is becoming a more integral part of LinkedIn’s front-end strategy.
