Dynamics 365 includes installation of Copilot in Customer Service for delivering contextual answers using AI in both chat and email for quick answers. Moreover, with Copilot in Customer Insights and Marketing, marketers will be able to simplify their workflow for content creation, audience segmentation, and data exploration.

By utilising the Copilot feature within Dynamics 365 Business Central, the process of generating product listings for online commerce is significantly streamlined. Within seconds, users can create engaging and persuasive product descriptions for their online storefronts by incorporating various attributes such as size, colour, and material.

Hits Legal Roadblock

The new release comes in the backdrop of a class action lawsuit filed against Microsoft, OpenAI and GitHub for scrapping the licensed code to build AI-powered Copilot in November. This has become one of the worst nightmare for the company where they are desperately looking to escape – asking the court to dismiss a proposed class action complaint, as reported by Reuters

Because of these roadblocks, many IT and technology companies are sceptical of using Copilot. In our interview with the VP of data strategy and AI at Infosys, Gary Bhattacharjee, told AIM that code IP is a challenge that needs to be addressed. He said that GPT is trained with everything they could find on the internet, including open-source codes. “Different people have different perspectives on it,” he added.

The popularity of Microsoft’s Github Copilot continues to grow as it is now writing 46% of the codes for developers, which is a substantial increase from 27% in June 2022. Moreover, with the introduction of “Copilot for business,” the platform is now available for business use as well. Despite its success, the platform may face competition from IBM, a legacy tech company in India, in terms of IT automation.
