Quure.ai, a Mumbai-based health tech company, was awarded INR 32 crores by the Small Business Research Initiative Healthcare (the UK government’s National Health Service) in a competition for late-stage healthcare innovations.
The Small Business Research Initiative grant was provided in partnership with the NHS Cancer Programme and the Accelerated Access Collaborative. The SBRI competition was launched in March 2021. Qure.ai was among the eight startups that bagged more than INR 90 crores in funding for their projects that assist in faster and earlier detection and diagnosis of cancer.
The company relies on AI and deep learning technology to study radiology images to accurately diagnose and reduce the time required for early- lung cancer treatment. In addition, Qure.ai uses AI algorithms to locate brain trauma and diagnose chest-related problems.
Qure.ai’s cancer detection solution is available in more than 50 countries at 500 sites globally and caters to four million patients. Tools developed by Qure.ai have been deployed at Primary Health Care Centres in India to accelerate tuberculosis discovery. The tool is capable of identifying 29 clinically relevant lung abnormalities including Covid-19 symptoms.
Qure.ai was incubated by Fractal Analytics, which invested USD 30 million, at an early stage in the company.
