Now a connected IoT device for bikes

MapMyIndia has rolled out an IoT device for bikers

Mapmyindia, provider of digital maps and location Apps Company has unveiled a connected Internet of Things (IoT) device for bikers. The product, called Rover Bike acts like a GPS tracker and packs MapmyIndia’s maps and location technology and has an in-built GPS and also boasts of internet connectivity. Rover Bike IoT device enables users to access accurate location of bikes on the map with directions and speed details. The device also monitors the ride and provides a replay of previous rides as well.

Some of the features of Rover Bike are:

  • Details related to expected time of arrival, delays and directions are loaded on the app
  • Safety and security alerts such as over-speeding, insurance alerts, servicing are sent through mobile app, email or SMSes.
  • Users can also import documents such as driving license, insurance policy, registration on the app

Speaking at the launch of Rover Bike, Shivalik Prasad, executive director, MapmyIndia, shared, “MapmyIndia has been at the forefront of transforming the way we travel in India and our recent innovations were targeted at cars. We wanted to extend this benefit to motorcyclists as well. The Rover Bike IoT device for bikers offers a unique combination of navigation, tracking and safety features which significantly improve the user experience”.
