Reliance group announces Juergen Hase to head its IoT Businesses

Share

The Reliance Group has dived into yet another vertical with their accelerated growth in IoT space which came evident with Reliance communications announcing an IoT partnership with Jasper sometime back. The latest announcement comes with the appointment of Juergen Hase as the Group CEO for its IoT Business.

The Anil Ambani led Reliance Group has already proved its mettle in various other domains such as telecommunications, power and utilities, financial services, healthcare, road and metro transportation with a customer base of more than 250 million.

As part of its association with Jasper, which was subsequently acquired by Cisco, Reliance Group has been leveraging various IoT solutions for the past few months and were all set for a commercial launch.

Apart from IoT, Juergen’s leadership would also include scaling up various other pilots and making it available to external customers. Few of these include Reliance energy for Smart Grid Management to decrease power transmission and distribution losses, Demand Side Management to help consumers lower their energy bills and Fleet Management of maintenance vehicles; Reliance General Insurance for Vehicle Telematics to assess the risk profile of vehicle insurance customers; and Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for Remote Healthcare and Assisted Living.

With an experience of more than 25 years in developing, implementing and executing new businesses across global market, he has worked in global telecommunications industry and has been responsible for implementing IoT businesses in Middle East, North Africa and South Asia as the Director of IoT/ M2M in Ooredoo, across multiple vertical segments like Automotive, Telematics, Smart Cities, Healthcare, Insurance and Energy.

Juergen has also been the Vice President of the M2M Competence Center at Deutsche Telekom (DT) for over a decade and as it founders, has helped DT develop this unit as one of the leading global players in the field of IoT.

Holding a graduation from the Technical University in Germany with a major in Telecommunications and as an active board member of many global M2M associations, Juergen definitely stands out to be the right fit for the new IoT establishment and would be an interesting watch to see how he escalates the IoT business in the country.
