These 5G-Ready Phones Will Prepare You For Lightning Speed Internet & Data Usage In India

The world today is always so excited about faster things, and internet speed is one of the most standard necessities today. With the evolution of internet speed, we are now at a time where 5G is going to be a reality. India has plenty of options for these 5G phones that are coming up this year.

Here we list down the phones in India that have 5G:

1.Samsung

Samsung announced its Galaxy S10 5G phone earlier this year and is its first 5G phone. The phone will be launched in May this year and will run on Android 9.0 OS. It will be available between April and June. Samsung’s recently released Galaxy Fold will also support 5G. Samsung may also launch another 5G phone with AT&T later in 2019, and this phone will supposedly support the sub-6GHz spectrum, which will lead to a broader coverage of 5G.

2.Oppo

Oppo’s claim of being the first phone to support the 5G network perhaps came from the fact that it had made its Oppo R15 pre-commercially available. The mobile phone company had also claimed that it held a WeChat video call using its 5G.

In the most recent news, Oppo took to MWC 2019 to proclaim it was working on adding 5G to a model of the Oppo Find X. Find X 5G and R15 are some of its phones rumored to have 5G. It had also claimed that it had made a connection between a customised Oppo R15 smartphone and a 5G network. It has demonstrated the world’ first 5G video call in 2018.

3.Huawei

Huawei has always showed interest with its handsets supporting 5G. Back then, 2019 was the target date for release, and Huawei has hit that with the release of the folding, 5G-capable Huawei Mate X.

Behold the wonder of the Huawei Mate X – the foldable phone unveiled by Huawei at MWC 2019 that throws in 5G just for the fun of it. When closed, there are screens front and back for you to use; when open, the Mate X sports an 8-inch display for all your multitasking needs. The grip on the side helps you hold it in tablet mode and holds the camera system too.

4.Motorola

Motorola has technically already released 5G capabilities phone. Its Moto Z3 uses Motorola’s Moto Mod attachment to add a 5G power pack accessory onto the back of the phone to access 5G networks. But this the company is expected to come up with an inbuilt 5G phone this year and its model called Moto 23 is expected to be that one.

Expected release date: April 30, 2019

5.LG

LG’s V50 ThinkQ is a dual screen phone, giving you an experience of a second display for multitasking, just like in foldable phones. The phone was launched alongside the LG G8 ThinQ at MWC 2019 in Barcelona. No price has been announced for the LG V50 ThinQ yet, but you can bet on it costing less than the Huawei Mate X when it arrives “later this year”.

6.Honor

Honor has announced its plan to launch 5G supported phones. It has confirmed its 5G phones and it might come in the market in the first half of 2019. Honor President, Geroge Zhao said, “With the arrival of 5G, the efficiency of smartphones and Cloud will increase exponentially, and the era of intelligent phones will arrive simultaneously. Meanwhile, the era of full-speed AI phones will come as well.”

Expected release date: First half of 2019

7. Xiaomi

Xiaomi is going to release its Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 model in May 2019, as announced at MWC 201 alongside its Mi 9. The 5G Mi Mix 3 has the Qualcomm X50 modem alongside the Snapdragon 855 processor, and will connect to a Sub-6GHz 5G network rather than an mmWave network. Xiaomi says this will facilitate data speeds 10-times faster than 4G LTE. Once released, it would be one of the most affordable 5G phones in the market.
