Cast: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Kate Winslet
Yes, it has already been a decade after the first part overtook the box-office chart. This year, director James Cameron brings back the magic to the screens. The sequel will be the first part of the planned four instalments. Over the years, Avatar’s delays divided the fanbase, but it would not matter when it would clean out the box office after its release. The only thing which remains to be seen is whether it can shatter its predecessor’s record.

The Flash
Release date: 4 November 2022
Cast: Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Ben Affleck
For the longest time, Warner Bros. wanted to create a coexisting universe of franchises similar to DC Comics. The production house had tentative plans to release a Flash film in 2016, but it did not work out. However, Andy Muschietti has taken over the reins, and the movie will follow the Flashpoint storyline where Barry Allen goes back in time. Ezra Miller will be assuming the role of The Flash. He made several cameos in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Suicide Squad (2016).
It’s about time DC gets back to its glory days.
Jurassic World: Dominion
Release date: 10 June 2022
Cast: Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Daniella Pineda
Only a handful of movie series can capture every single audience, one of which is the Jurassic series. The much-awaited third part of the trilogy will be released on 10 June 2022. The second part, Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom, ended on a cliffhanger (no spoilers if you haven’t watched it), so we are eager to see what happens next. Although it is unsure where the movie is headed, Dominion will complete the current trilogy’s story arcs. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will team up with the OG cast of Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. Going into the movie, you can expect the Jurassic staples with legendary dinosaur fights and great CGI all around in it.
65
Release date: 29 April 2022
Cast: Adam Driver, Ariana Greenblatt, Chloe Coleman
Next in line is a brand new sci-fi thriller, 65, where Adam Driver will play an astronaut who crashes on a mysterious planet only to find out that he is not the only one there. While the movie seeks to answer one of the most common questions of the sci-fi genre, “Is anyone else out there?”, it is still incredibly interesting to watch out for because of insufficient plot details.
The movie is written by the screenwriters behind A Quiet Place, which adds more flavour. It is slated for release on 29 April 2022. Hopefully, it will live up to the billing and give us an exciting experience of ending up on an unknown land.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness
Release date: 25 March 2022
Cast: Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Elizabeth Olsen
After the Spiderman ensemble roared onscreen last year, 2022 is again filled with Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) joy. Doctor Strange was pivotal in the latest Spiderman movie, and this year he is getting back on the silver screen again with a standalone movie. However, doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be going deeper as Benedict Cumberbatch reprises his role as Dr Stephen Strange.
The movie will focus on the space-time continuum warping and further deep-dive into the Time Stone; an unspeakable evil will is also upon them. Meanwhile, one of the favourite Marvel characters’ Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen), will have a big hand in the movie.
Moonfall
Release date: 4 February 2022
Cast: Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, John Bradley
Ex-Catwoman Halle Berry and former exorcist Patrick Wilson are next to appear in their latest movie Moonfall. What will you do when the moon falls on Earth due to some mysterious force? Well, if you want the answer to it, make sure not to miss this movie.
Moonfall is directed by Ronald Emmerich, the brains behind Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012.
Lightyear
Release date: 17 June 2022
Cast: Chris Evans
I could never get enough of Toy Story. But, I was always curious about what was above and beyond. Lightyear will show us Buzz Lightyear’s world, Star Command and his adventures with Andy’s toys. In addition, Buzz is finally getting his spin-off movie which will take us through his journey of becoming the greatest space ranger we adore.
Chris Evans is roped in for Buzz’ voice; however, I do miss Tim Allen (OG Buzz), but at the same time, Chris might surprise us with a whole new Buzz.
Everything everywhere all at once
Release date: 25 March 2022
Cast: Jamie Lee Curtis, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Ke Quan
This is a different POV on modern science as a Chinese-American woman is everywhere at once in a hysterical take on the multiverse. The Russo brothers produced it, and Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan will be directing it. Everything everywhere all at once starts with the woman just trying to compile her taxes and ends up being mixed up in messy timelines.
