It is to be noted that earlier today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled the Union Budget 2023-24. This year’s budget placed a special emphasis on localisation of AI tools and services, alongside the implementation of digital practices and more.
The minister announced the establishment of three ‘Centres of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence’ at leading academic institutions, aimed at fulfilling the goals of ‘Make AI in India’ and ‘Make AI work for India.’ These centres will explore the frontiers of scalable solutions in agriculture, health, and sustainable cities.
