Codeword, a leading tech-marketing agency, has hired the world’s first AI interns.
The interns named Aiden and Aiko have been hired for a three-month trial internship and will be working alongside Codeword’s team of 106 people.
Aiko will work on Codeword’s design team, while Aiden will work with the company’s editorial team. They will be given internal creative assignments, share their experiences on the company’s blog and social media accounts, and even get regular performance evaluations during their three-month internship. The interns will be assigned work by the team and they will work towards identifying their skills and nurture them through the internship as they progress to a potential full-time role. Codeword will monitor their progress and output regularly.
Though they are not expected to produce client-facing work, They will be required to produce the nature of creative work AI is skilled at which may include handling and managing content at scale or even generating large volumes of rough concept thumbnails for mood boards, analyse trends and news etc for the editorial team.
Aiden will be a part of an editorial team spanning over 30 writers and editors. Aiko will join the design team, which includes graphic designers, videographers, animators, UX designers, and front-end developers.
The inclusion of AI interns comes at a time when there is a debate about AI replacing human jobs.
“Aiko and Aiden are a real-world experiment to see how AI can integrate into our creative work streams, starting with intern-level work.” said Kyle Monson, partner at Codeword in a LinkedIn post.
Codeword is among the well-known agencies globally that is known for its work spanning content, PR, and integrated marketing alongside working with many of the world’s top technology brands.
