Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is a kind of management of IT infrastructure (networks, virtual machines, load balancers, and connection topology), also known as programmable infrastructure. A good understanding of Infrastructure as Code is needed and one can achieve that by understanding and using tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc. Infrastructure as Code enables DevOps engineers to test applications in production-like environments early in the development cycle.
