Amazon recently announced its Amazon Global Neptune Database which would facilitate building graph applications across multiple AWS regions using the same graph database.
According to Amazon, Neptune Global Database is available in N. Virginia, Ohio, N. California and Oregon in the US. In Europe, it is available in Ireland, London, and in Asia, it is available in Tokyo, Japan.
Developers can build graph applications on Neptune with three open graph query languages: openCypher, Apache TinkerPop Gremlin and the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) ‘SPARQL 1.1’.
“Customers have told us that they want to deploy their Neptune clusters across multiple regions in order to maintain business continuity for applications in the unlikely event of region-wide outages as they expand their footprint to multiple regions. We worked backward from this feedback to enable you to work with the same dataset in multiple regions.
“You can now deploy a primary Neptune database cluster in one Region and replicate its data in up to five secondary read-only database clusters (with up to 16 read replicas each) in different Regions”, Amazon revealed in a blog post.
Some of the top companies using Amazon Neptune include ADP, Siemens, Uber and Zeta Global.
