Microsoft Integrates ChatGPT with Teams for $7/Month

Microsoft today announced the launch of Teams Premium powered by ChatGPT at $7/month.

The news comes in the wake of the tech giant gearing up to integrate OpenAI’s much-talked-about ChatGPT in their search engine Bing by the end of March 2023. Microsoft bets big on posing a threat to Google search. The new addition is expected to generate more human-like answers instead of links to information which Bing‘s biggest tech rival Google does.

With ChatGPT, Teams Premium users can generate automatic meeting notes, AI-recommended tasks, personalised meeting templates, and much more!

On Feb 1, Microsoft announced in its blog that they are working to incorporate new, AI-powered capabilities across our consumer and enterprise products, including Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams Premium has integrated OpenAI’s GPT-3.5, to make meetings more intelligent, personalised, and secure whether they are one on one , virtual meetings or webinars.

Given the sheer amount of time spent in meetings and the time-consuming administrative work during meetings, like taking notes and capturing action items, there is a need to save time and be more productive in diverse ways. With a focus on this requirement, Microsoft has infused AI through various features, including intelligent recap that automatically generates meeting notes.

The AI-powered features integrated for teams include an intelligent recap that automatically generates meeting notes, recommended tasks, and personalised highlights to help you get the most important information, even if you miss the meeting. In addition, AI-generated chapters divide the meeting into sections, so it is easy to pick and choose the content most relevant or useful to you. This feature is available for PowerPoint Live.

Another interesting feature is personalised timeline markers that are only visible to the user. This feature will highlight in recording about when you joined or left a meeting, so you can quickly click and listen into what you had missed. These markers will expand to include when your name was mentioned and when a screen was shared.

Teams Premium will also offer AI-powered real-time translations from 40 spoken languages. In addition, meeting participants can read captions in their own language, making meetings more productive and effortless.
