Microsoft has announced the launch of the public preview of a free app that allows users to train machine learning (ML) models without writing any code.

This app — Lobe — has been designed for Windows and Mac, only supports image classification; however, the tech giant is planning to expand the app to include other models and data types in the future.

According to Lobe website, the app needs to be shown examples of what the users want to learn, and the app automatically trains a custom machine learning model that can be shipped in the users’ app.

The app, Lobe leverages open-source machine learning architectures and transfer learning to train custom machine learning models on the user’s own machine.

Users can just initiate the process by importing training images of the things they want Lobe to recognise. Microsoft further explained to the media that once training is done, the models can be easily exported to run on industry-standard platforms and work in apps, websites or devices.

The app further helps users to create end-to-end machine learning solutions without doing any sort of coding. It has also been designed to have an option for improving accuracy. Alongside, if the app mislabels any image, users can correct it with a click, Microsoft stated to the media.

It was 2018 when the tech giant had acquired the company, Lobe to expand its artificial intelligence strategy. The app is made for the desktop of Windows or Mac.
