Perplexity, the AI search engine startup, has announced a residency program for recent graduates and early-stage career professionals. The company is offering a three-month full-time residency program in San Francisco, offering an opportunity to gain experience in a rapidly evolving AI ecosystem.
Members of the residency program will get to work with the product team and build new features for Perplexity based on the full stack and front-end engineering. Perplexity also requires familiarity with NextJS, TypeScript, Python, Docker, and AWS.
The startup is offering a compensation of $9000 a month. The program will begin in February next year.
“Outstanding performers will be offered a full-time position at the end of the program," read the announcement. Perplexity said that they have spots for at least five residents in their first batch.
Over the last few months, Perplexity has been on a feature release spree. Recently, they announced a new shopping-related feature, ‘Buy with Pro’. This lets users check out and pick products from select merchants on the website or app and place their orders.
In October, Perplexity announced ‘Perplexity for Finance’, which provides real-time stock information, industry peer comparisons, and detailed financial analysis.
Another feature, ‘Internal Knowledge Search,’ allows enterprises to search internal files and the web simultaneously.
The AI search engine startup was the first of its kind when it was launched and currently boasts a user base of 15 million active users on the app and the website. However, ChatGPT Search has emerged as a competitor for Perplexity and is available on the native web and mobile app for the Plus subscription.
