OLX Autos recently announced that it has appointed Rohit Pandharkar as their Global Head of Data Science. OLX Autos is a Naspers/Prosus company that focuses on used car sales in multiple international markets.
Prior to this role, he served as the Vice President and Head of Data Science at Mahindra Finance, where the team under his guidance delivered machine learning-based real-time credit underwriting engines for on the spot loan decisioning, pre-approved offers, cross-sell analytics, collections prioritisation and limit management. He also led the APAC area for a Google Venture funded company, HeadSpin, which is an AI-based platform for mobile app performance.
Rohit holds a Masters Degree in Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab at Cambridge, Massachusetts. He also holds several US patents and international publications in the areas of AI, Computational Imaging, Signal processing, and Cryptography. He has also been an invited reviewer at the international journal and conferences like ACM Siggraph, ACM Siggraph Asia, IEEE CVPR, ECCV, ICCP, etc. and has been a TEDx Speaker.
