Web Werks, a national data centre provider, today announced the launch of its fourth data centre in the country and the second in Hinjewadi-Pune. Since the launch of its first large data centre in Mumbai in 2015, Web Werks has strategically expanded into Delhi NCR and Pune, which houses critical IT infrastructure of numerous Indian and global organisations.

A leading data centre service provider, Web Werks has established itself as high availability, network dense, carrier-neutral colocation provider. With this launch, Web Werks has established itself as one of the leading data centre providers in Pune.

The new facility is spread across 35,000 sq. ft. structure and is well equipped, next-generation Tier 3, Uptime designed data centre with 5MW of power and rich interconnectivity. It is also the first data centre in Pune with SAP certification and Carbon Neutrality contributing to Global Go-Green concepts.

It is designed to meet the growing demand of ‘Cloud Infrastructure’ needs of customers from Pune and outside. It also features state of the art Honeywell and Spectra Security Systems making it highly secured along with a 24x7 NOC. It will also act as a disaster recovery zone for the existing Web Werks data centres based in Mumbai and Delhi NCR and vice versa.

Nikhil Rathi, CEO, Web Werks data centres said, “We are pleased to announce the Phase 1 launch of our new data centre facility. This puts us in the Top 3 DC Players in Pune. Despite all the odds that surfaced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the subsequent lockdown, and limited manpower to deploy, the construction work has been completed.

“Web Werks is geared to meet the growing demand for data centres in Pune to serve the needs of both customers in and outside Pune. We thank our current customers, vendors, and partners who have supported us throughout. We look forward to welcoming our first set of customers in the coming months,” he added.

It was recently suggested that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) may come up with a national policy framework for establishing data centres across the country soon. The reports suggest that states will be free to either follow in total or mould it according to their needs.
