Anthropic PBC is on track to generate nearly $20 billion in annualised revenue, more than doubling its run rate from late last year, according to a Bloomberg report.
The rapid growth reflects the rising adoption of the company’s AI models and tools as demand for AI systems continues to grow.
The report said Anthropic has recently crossed about $19 billion in revenue run rate, up from roughly $9 billion at the end of 2025 and around $14 billion just a few weeks ago. The surge has been driven largely by strong uptake of the company’s AI offerings, including its coding-focused product, Claude Code.
Anthropic’s tools have gained significant traction among developers and enterprises seeking AI systems capable of handling complex workflows, including coding, automation, and analysis.
Several of the company’s products have also drawn widespread attention this year for their ability to automate more sophisticated tasks. The company recently raised $30 billion at a valuation of $380 billion.
However, Anthropic’s revenue surge coincides with its growing dispute with the US Department of Defense. On February 27, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reportedly declared the AI developer a supply-chain risk, a designation usually reserved for companies from countries considered adversaries by the United States.
The move came after tensions between Anthropic and the Pentagon over how the company’s AI technology could be used, particularly in areas such as surveillance and autonomous weapon systems.
Anthropic has pushed back against the decision, calling it legally unsound and stating that it is prepared to challenge any such designation in court.
Despite the dispute, the company continues to gain momentum among consumers. Claude recently topped Apple’s download charts, reflecting a surge of public interest and support during its ongoing standoff with the Pentagon.
