IT Services firm HCLTech has expanded its partnership with US-based software company Pegasystems to help enterprises modernise legacy technology systems using artificial intelligence, as tech firms increasingly sharpen their focus on AI-led transformation deals.
The companies said on May 25 that HCLTech will combine its AI Force platform with Pega Blueprint, Pegasystems’ AI-driven workflow and application design platform, to help clients automate the discovery, documentation and migration of older enterprise systems into cloud-native applications.
The collaboration comes at a time when global enterprises are looking to reduce costs associated with maintaining ageing technology estates, while also accelerating the adoption of AI-enabled applications and workflows.
Unlike traditional migration projects that largely shift applications from on-premise infrastructure to the cloud, the companies said the offering aims to help enterprises retire legacy systems altogether through automated workflows, AI-generated application designs and migration-ready data structures.
“Enterprises worldwide are burdened by the high costs, risks and inefficiencies of outdated, siloed legacy systems. HCLTech AI Force and Pega Blueprint can help organisations transform their estates through AI-led discovery and modernisation while maximising value for their Pega investments,” the companies said in the statement.
The offering will use generative AI and agentic AI capabilities to automate parts of the modernisation process that have traditionally required significant manual effort.
“Our long-standing partnership with Pega continues to inspire real innovation. By combining HCLTech AI Force with Pega Blueprint, we are making legacy modernisation faster, smarter and more accurate,” Sadagopan Singam, Executive Vice President, Global Head of Enterprise Platforms and Edge Services, Digital Business Services at HCLTech, said in the statement.
John Higgins, Chief of Client and Partner Success at Pegasystems, said enterprises are looking to modernise systems while maintaining scalability, security and resilience.
The partnership also reflects a broader push among Indian IT services companies to deepen alliances with enterprise software firms and hyperscalers as AI adoption reshapes large technology transformation contracts.
HCLTech said the platform will support the rapid deployment of applications on the Pega platform and enable continuous optimisation after migration.
The Noida-headquartered company reported consolidated revenue of $14.7 billion for the 12 months ended March 2026.
