Bengaluru-based Healthify and digital health and nutrition care company Berry Street have merged to create an AI-powered metabolic health platform that combines Healthify’s nutrition technology with Berry Street’s insurance-covered clinical care network in the US.
The combined entity will be led by Healthify founder Tushar Vashisht and Berry Street founder Noah Kotlove as co-CEOs. It will operate under the Berry Street brand in the US, while Healthify will retain its brand in India and other international markets where it has a consumer presence.
The merger comes as demand for AI-based health and weight-management guidance grows alongside the use of GLP-1 drugs. The companies said the combined platform will bring together AI-based nutrition support, clinical care, and insurance coverage.
Healthify’s platform has been developed using hundreds of millions of dietitian-to-patient interactions and tracks signals including nutrition, sleep, stress, and weight. The company said it has served more than 45 million users across more than 20 cultures.
“Healthify’s mission has been to put a dietitian in every human’s pocket. We have spent a decade proving that AI can drive life-changing outcomes at scale,” said Vashisht. “Berry Street gives us the clinical backbone and the coverage infrastructure to deliver that promise to the US market at a scale no one has achieved before.”
Healthify’s AI platform Ria provides nutrition guidance and supports multimodal and multilingual interactions. Its food-logging technology can identify nutrition information from photographs. A peer-reviewed study involving Stanford Medical School reported improvements in weight and metabolic markers among Ria users.
Berry Street provides nutrition and metabolic care through a network of more than 2,000 clinicians, including registered dietitians, doctors, and nurse practitioners. Its services include GLP-1 management and nutrition therapy, with insurance coverage in many cases.
The company has served more than 200,000 patients across all 50 US states and is part of the first cohort of the Centres for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ ACCESS model. It has also worked with companies including Amazon and Walmart.
“One in eight Americans is now on a GLP-1, and it’s just the beginning,” Kotlove said. “The science is clear: these medications are most effective when paired with high-touch clinical oversight and expert nutrition guidance.”
The combined platform will allow patients to receive care from Berry Street’s clinical network while using AI tools between appointments for nutrition guidance, meal tracking, and health-data integration.
Berry Street currently supports more than 30 conditions, including weight management, diabetes, women’s health, and heart health.
“By pairing AI with a nationwide network of expert clinicians, Healthify and Berry Street are building the platform that will redefine metabolic care, giving everyone access to daily nutrition guidance and expert dietitian advice,” said Vinod Khosla, Founder of Khosla Ventures.
