IT services company Hexaware Technologies will invest £25 million in the United Kingdom over the next three to five years, a move that is expected to create around 1,200 jobs across artificial intelligence (AI), digital services and quantum computing, as the company deepens its presence in one of its fastest-growing markets.

The investment, announced by the UK government during the G7 Summit on June 16 as part of a broader package of international commitments linked to the country’s AI and clean energy agenda, will see Hexaware establish new research and development centres in Manchester and Leeds and expand its delivery centre in Birmingham.

The company said the investment will focus on AI research, digital innovation for citizen services and talent development, while supporting public-sector modernisation initiatives in the UK.

“The UK is one of our fastest-growing markets,” said Parameshwaran Iyer, executive vice president and head of UK and Europe at Hexaware. “Our UK clients are moving fast on AI, and having research and delivery talent on the ground here means we can build with them rather than for them.”

The announcement comes as global IT services firms increasingly expand local delivery and research capabilities in key overseas markets to meet growing demand for AI-led transformation projects and comply with localisation requirements from government and regulated-sector clients.

Hexaware Chief Executive R Srikrishna said the company plans to work with local institutions and government bodies while investing in young talent and emerging technologies.

The company has operated in the UK for more than three decades and opened its UK headquarters in Canary Wharf, London, in 2025.

The UK is Hexaware’s second-largest market globally and its fastest-growing geography, according to the company.

“Hexaware has worked alongside businesses in the UK for more than three decades. We have very high ambitions for our growth, creating impact in the UK and proudly supporting the Government’s inclusive vision for AI,” Srikrishna said.

He added that the investments are focused on developing young talent, working with unique, publicly available datasets, and collaborating with the government at all levels across the country.
