Dublin-based enterprise software company Octave Intelligence has inaugurated a 2 lakh sq ft Technology and Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, with plans to scale the facility to 2,000 engineers in the coming years, as the industrial software company expands its global technology operations from India.
The centre, located in HITEC City, will focus on software engineering, AI, data, cloud, and product development. The facility also houses an Experience Centre where customers, partners and stakeholders can see Octave’s products, AI-driven solutions and industrial technology use cases.
“When a global company builds technology for some of the world’s most critical industrial and energy infrastructure, where failure is simply not an option, it needs more than talent. It needs engineering depth, scale and continuity. Octave has found that in Hyderabad. That is also why Hyderabad is increasingly becoming the first choice for global companies establishing their first GCCs and entering India,” Sridhar Babu Telangana’s Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, said in a statement.
He added that Telangana had welcomed 75 new GCCs last year and is targeting another 100 by next year.
“More importantly in the last two years, the capabilities being built here are becoming increasingly diverse and sophisticated, spanning sectors from sports technology and media to hospitality, travel, capital markets, trading, utilities and energy ,” he said.
The Hyderabad centre will serve as one of Octave’s global technology and innovation hubs, with teams contributing to products and technologies used by customers worldwide.
Octave develops software for mission-critical industrial facilities and infrastructure, combining data, AI, and engineering expertise. The company serves approximately 4,500 customers across 180 countries, including more than 60% of the Global Fortune 500, according to the company.
The Hyderabad team will work on technologies supporting industries where real-time intelligence and data-driven decision-making are critical.
“Octave’s global technology and innovation centre in Hyderabad is an exceptional location to continue our next phase of growth. The city brings together world-class engineering talent, a vibrant technology ecosystem and a strong culture of innovation. Our centre represents more than an expansion of our physical presence—it is an investment in our people and in the capabilities that will help shape Octave’s future. We are excited to see our teams in India play an even greater role in developing the technologies and solutions that enable our customers around the world,” Mattias Stenberg, CEO, Octave, said.
The company said its Hyderabad operations will deepen its capabilities in areas including AI, cloud, data, and product engineering, particularly for asset-intensive sectors such as manufacturing, energy, utilities, transportation, and infrastructure.
“Hyderabad is a key technology and innovation hub for Octave, with our teams contributing to products and platforms used by customers worldwide. The Octave Hyderabad centre will deepen these capabilities across software engineering, AI, data, cloud, and product development, with engineers working on technologies that help organisations turn complex operational data into actionable intelligence,” Sekhar Konidena, Vice President, Product and Services, Octave India, said.
The company’s portfolio covers geospatial intelligence, engineering information management, enterprise asset management, physical security, and quality management.
Its software connects data across an asset’s lifecycle, from design and engineering through operations, maintenance, and safety. Octave said these technologies are designed to help organisations use AI and advanced analytics to improve reliability, productivity, safety, sustainability, and decision-making.
The Octave centre adds to Hyderabad’s growing presence in industrial technology and engineering, alongside companies such as Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens, Honeywell, and PTC.
The state government said Hyderabad accounted for more than 46% of new capability centres established in India over the past year, with companies including Charles Schwab, The Hartford, Nationwide, L’Oréal, Vanguard, T-Mobile, and Southwest Airlines setting up their first India bases in the city.
The Experience Centre at Octave’s Hyderabad facility will showcase the company’s technology through immersive demonstrations and real-world use cases, spanning industrial intelligence, public safety, and operations.
For Telangana, the expansion represents another move towards positioning Hyderabad not merely as a GCC destination but as a hub for high-value engineering, AI, and industrial technology development.
