Travel tech platform ixigo is expanding its collaboration with OpenAI to deepen AI integration across its travel ecosystem and to deploy AI at scale for travel discovery, booking, and support.
The collaboration will see ixigo leverage OpenAI’s Enterprise API platforms to roll out advanced AI tools and next-generation coding models across its technology stack, spanning ixigo and its group companies, ConfirmTkt and Abhibus.
The initiative is aimed at powering autonomous workflows at ixigo and enabling new AI-driven use cases, including fully autonomous agents, AI-assisted workflows, contextual AI assistants, and AI-first customer experiences.
ixigo said the deeper integration will accelerate software development, quality assurance, and operational automation, while unlocking multi-modal, agentic capabilities across platforms. The company is also investing in research-led applications to reimagine how travellers search, plan, and transact using AI.
The Gurugram-headquartered firm has been an early adopter of AI in the travel sector, with around 90% of its voice and chat-based customer support already handled end-to-end by AI.
Beyond customer service, AI is embedded across engineering, marketing, business processes and operations. In 2025, ixigo unveiled its three-pronged AI strategy—Project Trishul—focused on efficiency, revenue growth and disruption, with the goal of driving operating leverage, smarter monetisation and autonomous workflows.
“We have been an early mover on AI since 2012, and we are now entering an era where every company needs to become an AI diffusion company to help their customers and partners leverage the benefits that AI enables. Our collaboration with OpenAI will accelerate the integration of AI and agentic workflows both inside the organisation and for over half a billion travel consumers that we serve,” ixigo Group Co-CEO Rajnish Kumar and Group CEO Aloke Bajpai said in a statement.
With the expanded partnership, ixigo aims to move beyond incremental automation to organisation-wide autonomous workflows, positioning itself as one of the most AI-native travel platforms globally.
