Razorpay has appointed four senior engineering leaders from Microsoft, Salesforce, CRED and Divyam.ai as it expands its AI capabilities and prepares its financial infrastructure for agentic commerce.
The appointments include Sudhir Reddy, former CTO and Co-Founder of Divyam.ai, who joins as the company’s senior-most individual contributor to lead AI and data architecture.
The company has also hired Abhishek Agarwal, formerly Principal Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft; Bhavya Shivaprakash, formerly Senior Director at Salesforce; and Anuj Mathur, formerly Senior Director at CRED.
The hires come as Razorpay increases investments in AI across payments, banking, fraud prevention, reconciliation, merchant operations and developer platforms. The company said it is building systems that can increasingly make financial decisions rather than only process transactions.
“The next decade of financial infrastructure will be built very differently from the last,” said Shashank Kumar, CTO and Co-Founder of Razorpay. “We believe software won’t just help businesses operate—it will increasingly reason, decide, and act on their behalf. That requires a fundamentally different engineering organisation, one that combines AI expertise, large-scale engineering experience, and a strong product mindset.”
He added that the new leaders’ experience building technology platforms at scale would help accelerate Razorpay’s plans to build AI-native financial infrastructure for businesses globally.
The expansion builds on the company’s engineering reorganisation that began in September 2025, when Praburam Rambadran joined as Senior Vice President of Engineering.
Since then, Razorpay said it has launched products including Agentic Payments, Agent Studio, Agentic Dashboard and Onboarding, Connected Banking Agents, and internal AI developer tools.
Rambadran said the company prioritised engineering experience in deploying AI systems in production.
“Getting AI into production at financial scale is a hard, unglamorous problem. It’s about data quality, system reliability, and judgment under real constraints, not just model capability,” he said. “Sudhir, Abhishek, Bhavya and Anuj have each done this before, at scale, at Divyam.ai, Microsoft, Salesforce and CRED. Adding them to the team lets us move faster on the engineering work that agentic commerce is going to demand.”
Reddy, who has nearly two decades of experience building AI platforms and enterprise systems, previously held leadership roles at Flipkart, Yahoo and Symantec.
“I’ve always believed AI earns its place not by being clever, but by being trustworthy—and nowhere is that tested more than in financial systems, where every decision carries real consequences for real businesses,” Reddy said. “I’m looking forward to building the data and AI architecture this next chapter of Razorpay needs.”
According to the company, the engineering leadership team will build AI capabilities across payments, banking, risk, data and developer platforms as Razorpay develops systems that can support financial decision-making alongside transaction processing.
