Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched an AI engineering lab in Bengaluru in partnership with NVIDIA, betting on growing enterprise demand for industrial artificial intelligence applications in manufacturing, mobility and autonomous systems.
Located at TCS’ Global Axis campus, the TCS Autonomous Engineering Lab is designed as a physical AI facility where enterprises can prototype, simulate, test and validate AI applications before deploying them in live industrial environments.
The move comes as technology services firms increasingly expand beyond AI consulting into dedicated infrastructure and engineering capabilities to help clients operationalise AI at scale.
The lab will leverage NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure and TCS’ industrial engineering capabilities to develop applications spanning software-defined vehicles, autonomous driving, digital twins, smart manufacturing and agentic AI, the company said.
“As we move forward into our next phase and deepen our collaboration, we will build on this momentum into scaled deployment and enterprise-wide transformation for more customers, with confidence and speed,” Sreenivasa Chakravarti, Global Head and Vice President of Industrial Autonomy and Engineering, TCS, said in a statement.
According to the company, the lab will support customers in integrating AI into products, manufacturing plants and industrial operations, with use cases including predictive maintenance, automated quality inspection, real-time process optimisation and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It will also provide access to NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem and computing infrastructure for testing and validation.
“As enterprises push to operationalise AI across physical operations, they require specialised infrastructure to bridge the gap between simulation and real-world deployment. Through this collaboration, the TCS Industrial Autonomy and Engineering Lab leverages the full-stack NVIDIA AI platform to offer customers a scalable pathway for validating and implementing their next-generation industrial solutions,” Alvin DaCosta, Vice President, AI Consulting Partners, NVIDIA, said.
The announcement marks an expansion of the longstanding partnership between TCS and NVIDIA beyond technology integration to include joint capability building, customer engagement and solution development.
