Telangana Strengthens Push in Life Sciences, AI, Healthcare, Targeting USD 25 Billion Investment by 2035

The Telangana government has secured new investment pledges at BioAsia across life sciences, animal vaccines, AI-led healthcare analytics, and infrastructure, reinforcing Hyderabad’s position as one of India’s fastest-growing pharma and healthtech hubs.

The announcements cover four major projects that together are expected to create direct jobs over the next few years, the government said at the BioAsia 2026 Summit in Hyderabad. They span establishing global capability centres, advanced vaccine manufacturing, data science, and large-scale life sciences infrastructure.

France-based Opella Healthcare will set up a global technology centre (GTC) in Hyderabad, employing around 500 people in a 42,000 sq ft facility. The centre will support consumer healthcare operations globally.

Indonesia-based Vaksindo Animal Healthcare announced an investment of ₹400 crore to establish a state-of-the-art Animal Biosafety Level-3 animal vaccine manufacturing facility in Telangana. The unit will produce vaccines for poultry, cattle, swine, and aquaculture, and is expected to generate 350 jobs.

US-based AI and data science firm Tredence will invest about ₹300 crore over the next two to three years to build a dedicated innovation hub in Hyderabad focused on AI-driven healthcare and life sciences analytics. The company plans to create 400 jobs initially, scaling up to 2,000 roles.

Indian life sciences infrastructure company RX Propellant has committed a significant investment of ₹1,000 crore to develop a next-generation life sciences campus spread across 1 million sq ft, which is expected to employ nearly 5,000 people.

Speaking at the event, Sridhar Babu Duddilla, Telangana Minister for IT, E&C, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, said that the state is focused on combining large-scale manufacturing with innovation and incubation to stay globally competitive.

The government also reiterated its plans to expand Genome Valley, with Phase IV underway and additional land already allocated to interested companies. Alongside industrial infrastructure, the state plans to invest in housing, education and healthcare facilities to support the growing workforce.

“Affordability is the main criterion. Using technology should help anybody, irrespective of caste, creed or economic status,” Babu added.

With these announcements, Telangana aims to deepen its life sciences ecosystem, moving from bulk drugs and formulations to vaccines, biologics and AI-led healthcare innovation, while continuing to attract global and domestic investors.
