Analytics India Magazine (AIM), in association with T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), has come out with the report titled, “State Of Artificial Intelligence In India 2021.” AIMResearch has researched the open jobs across the AI segment and come out with the findings based on the following:
- City-wise Distribution of Open Jobs
- Salary-wise Distribution of Open Jobs
- Experience-wise Distribution of Open Jobs
According to the city-by-city distribution of open jobs, Bengaluru has the greatest proportion at 29.9%. (against 28.6% last year), followed by Delhi (NCR) with 17.9% and Mumbai with 11.8% of advertised jobs.

IT organisations, technology firms, and start-ups – all have large operations in Bengaluru, and as a result, the city has the largest percentage of advertised employment. Similarly, Delhi is the hub of ITES firms, while Mumbai is dominated by captive banking, domestic BFSI and other domestic firms.
Considering the salary-wise distribution of open jobs, the study reveals that the 6-10 lakhs salary bracket offered for jobs has the maximum proportion of open jobs. This is followed by the salary level of 10-15 Lakhs, then mid-senior salary level, and mid-junior salary – 3-6 Lakhs.

The experience-wise distribution of open jobs reveals that the greatest proportion of jobs has been advertised for the experience level of 5 to 7 years. This is followed by the proportion of the mid-senior level of jobs for the experience level of 7-10 years. Therefore, it can be said that professionals with more than two years of experience hold a greater chance to grab job openings in the market. However, the research also shows a silver lining for the new entrants in the market as the entry experience levels of 0-1 years and 1-2 years have a distribution of 7.5% (v/s 5.7% last year) and 9.2% (v/s 7% last year) respectively.
