Melanie Perkins, CEO and co-founder of Canva in a blog post today unveiled ‘Canva Visual Worksuite’—revealing the biggest change made to the platform in almost a decade.
The launch elevates Canva from a graphic design tool to an end-to-end visual communication platform that every user, organisation, team, or educational institution would be able to use to unlock their creativity and achieve their goals.
After several requests from the community, the platform has shared a world-first preview of Canva Docs—a new way of creating documents that combines newly designed features to maximise collaboration and productivity.
By harnessing the power of both text and visuals, the platform provides an ultimate way to communicate ideas for engagement. Users would be able to add visuals from a library of over 100 million videos, photos, and illustrations.
The company claims that 85% of Fortune 500 companies including FedEx, L’Oreal and Salesforce use Canva’s design tools.

Moreover, a freemium model will also be available for the visual worksuite. Like its Teams product, the worksuite will include collaboration features that allow team members to work together in real time on documents.
‘Canva Websites’—a new way to build beautiful, responsive, and interactive websites for any device has also been introduced. Other new features include Canva Whiteboards, Video Background Remover, Expansion of Canva Print, Data Visualisation, and remote control for presentations.
The visual communication platform aims to invest more to power evolving work setups and demystify the complexity of visual communication products so that every user may be able to thrive with ease.
