NVIDIA is now collaborating with Amazon Web Services to offer 21 NVIDIA NGC software resources to the AWS Marketplace. With this offering, customers will now be able to directly find, buy, and start using software and solutions that run on AWS.

NVIDIA NGC (NVIDIA GPU Cloud) is a GPU-accelerated cloud platform that is optimised for deep learning and scientific computing, among other applications. It helps in accelerating deployment to development of workflows so as to facilitate developers, data scientists, and researchers. This will help them deploy this software free of charge to accelerate their AI deployments.

In 2017, NVIDIA began providing GPU-optimised software through the NVIDIA NGC catalogue. In just three years, over 250,000 users have downloaded more than a million AI containers, application frameworks, pre-trained models, and other machine learning resources.

What Does This Collaboration Entail

With the finalisation of this new deal, AWS Marketplace will now feature NVIDIA’s most popular GPU-accelerated AI software in healthcare, conversational AI, computer vision, recommender system, data science, machine learning and high-performance computing. Some of the most prominent ones among them are:

  • NVIDIA Clara Imaging: It is NVIDIA’s domain-optimised application framework for accelerating deep learning training for medical imaging purposes. Used majorly by data scientists and researchers, it offers easy-to-use, domain-optimised tools for creating high-quality and labelled datasets, collaborating techniques for AI model training, and an end-to-end software framework for AI deployment.
  • NVIDIA DeepStream SDK: DeepStream provides a multi-platform scalable framework along with TLS security, allowing users to deploy on edge and connect to the cloud. With NVIDIA DeepStream SDK, users can build and deploy their AI-powered video analytics apps and services.
  • NVIDIA HPC SDK: It is a suite of compilers, libraries, and tools for high-performance computing. This SDK can be leveraged to maximise developer productivity, performance, and the portability of the HPC applications.
  • NVIDIA NeMo: It is for the development of speech and language models to create conversational AI. An open-source Python toolkit based on Pytorch backend, NeMo facilitates the composition and training of state-of-the-art neural network architectures.
  • NVIDIA Issac SIM ML Training: It is a toolkit containing building blocks and tools for accelerating robot development that requires AI-enabled perception, navigation, and manipulation features. With this, users can build and deploy commercial-grade robots.
  • NVIDIA Merlin:It is an open beta framework for building deep learning recommender systems. It includes tools which democratise building deep learning recommenders, overcoming challenges related to ETL, training, and inference.
  • Rapids: It is a suite of open source data science software libraries.
  • NVIDIA AI: It is also a suite of frameworks and tools that include MXNet, TensorFlow, Pytorch, among others.

Instant availability of NGC software in the AWS Marketplace provides a range of benefits, including:

  • Now through AWS Marketplace, data scientists and developers can access the latest NVIDIA AI software versions easily through just a single click.
  • Since the software is constantly evolving, the users get regular access to the latest features and performance improvements. Additionally, users can access the latest versions as soon as they are available in the NGC catalogue.
  • It will also simplify the software deployment process. Now, users of Amazon EC2, SageMaker, Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS), and Elastic Container Services can subscribe and run NGC software within the AWS console.
  • With the availability of NGC Helm charts in the AWS Marketplace, DevOps teams can smoothen their deployment processes.

Wrapping Up

AWS is also the first cloud service provider that will be offering NGC catalogue on their marketplace. Speaking about the same, Chris Grusz, the director of AWS Marketplace at Amazon Web Services, said, “With NVIDIA NGC software now available directly in AWS Marketplace, customers will be able to simplify and speed up their AI deployment pipeline by accessing and deploying these specialised software resources directly on AWS.”

In September this year, NVIDIA also announced it would be expanding its partnership with VMWare by integrating NVIDIA NGC catalogue with VMware vSphere, Cloud Foundation and Tanzu, giving users a faster and better way to deploy GPU-accelerated AI applications in existing hybrid cloud environments.

Experts believe that NVIDIA is aggressively working to take on Intel to become the world’s premium computing company. Notably, NVIDIA had also bought Arm from SoftBank for $40 billion, this year.
