H2O.ai has announced the release of H2O Wave, an open-source Python development framework to develop real-time interactive AI apps with sophisticated visualisations. Making it fast and easy for data scientists, machine learning engineers, and software developers to build AI apps, Wave claims to be the future of AI applications.
According to the official blog post by the company, H2O Wave is a lightweight Python development framework that enables developers to build beautiful, real-time applications powered by leading AI technology. It further stated that by enabling faster and more modular development of AI-based applications, businesses could build, test, collaborate, and deploy their AI applications dramatically way faster than before, with just a few lines of Python. Wave can easily be integrated with H2O’s AI technologies, such as driverless AI, H2O-3, or any Python library.
Data science is more than manipulating data and model building. As a matter of fact, storytelling is a crucial part of real-world data science projects, and that is only possible with interactive visualisations. When asked about this new launch, Sri Satish Ambati, the founder and CEO of H2O.ai stated to the media that data scientists, developers and engineers have always needed a low-code fast way to tell meaningful stories from data with machine learning. Thus the release cannot come at a better time.
He further stated, being an open-source framework, it ensures that the community can bring AI into every organisation, starting from data science recipes to intelligent business applications. It makes the process of prototyping rapid, and serves live informative visualisations and applications.
Additionally, according to the blog post, making accurate apps in the first go is hard, even for seasoned app developers. And that’s why H2O Wave comes with a live-reload feature that allows developers to preview the app live as they change code, reducing the time and effort for app development.
The software supports open-source visualisation frameworks — D3, Bokeh, and MatPlotLib, and includes an assortment of dialogues, themes, and widgets to assist developers in creating rich experiences for their ML models, without having proficiency in web technologies like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
With Wave, developers can further store the apps as static executables for multiple platforms, including Windows, OSX, and Linux, making it very easy for sharing.
Customers can now try out the following open source demo applications for social media sentiment, explaining ratings, getting started with NLP and Images, mitigating churn risk, human-in-the-loop credit risk, online shopping recommendations and guessing the number.
H2O Wave can be downloaded from the GitHub website and developers can follow the instructions for Windows/Mac/Linux
