The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has partnered once again with WileyNXT to launch a PG certification course in AI for Digital Business and E-commerce. Post their AI in Banking Programme, launched in September 2020, this course is claiming to be a one-of-its-kind, which will help in specialising in artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning techniques and applications in digital and eCommerce businesses.
The course has been specifically for students studying engineering, bachelor and masters of technology, computers and who are keen to build a career in digital business platforms. The course can also be taken by existing tech professionals who are aspiring to have career growth in AI. With this course, the successful applicants will receive a joint certification from WileyNXT and IIT Roorkee.
As a matter of fact, data stated that 97 million new job roles would emerge that would need skills that are more adapted to the new division of labour — a collaboration with machines and algorithms. Similarly, with deeper internet penetration and increased consumer spending power, the industry of eCommerce is expected to be valued at $200 billion by 2026 or even earlier, stated the official release.
Hence, such a massive industry would require massive talent and manpower that fits into these futuristic job roles, such as Retail Analyst, AI Engineer, Data Scientist, NLP Engineer, Product Manager ML, VP Data Science Research Head. These roles would expect the candidates to be thinkers and to have the ability to support operations with their insights and technology-driven innovative solutions.
Explaining better, Vikas Gupta, the managing director of Wiley India stated that the course industry-aligned and future-ready, and will act as a catalyst to bridge the talent gap India is currently facing — making them ready for the digital economy transformation.
Gupta further stated, with the rise in smartphone usage, major government initiatives, and launch of 4G network, India has become the fastest-growing E-commerce market. With this advanced course will be able to build cutting-edge AI skills for high growth jobs in digital and eCommerce companies, post the pandemic.
Artificial intelligence has been quite a significant aspect for digital businesses and eCommerce platforms, not only to drive growth but also to curate personalised customer experience for a better outcome.
This course with its action learning methodology has been designed to help candidates learn actual application uses of AI and understand the impact AI trends such as chatbots, image and speech recognition, and intelligent automation have on these businesses.
The course further allows the enrolled students to practise these learned skills during lab exercises with real-world problems and datasets used in a digital business context. It will also teach the students the end-to-end work of an AI project.
To this, Gaurav Dixit, a professor at the IIT Roorkee and the course director stated, considering there is a massive surge of digital DNA, which is forcing old businesses to transform digitally. And that’s why IIT Roorkee decided to collaborate with WileyNXT to develop this executive program in AI for digital businesses and eCommerce.
During this course, learners will be able to grasp knowledge on tools and technologies like Python, TensorFlow, NLTK, NumPy, to name a few. The program will also include masterclasses by various industry experts; online courseware; eBooks library with 20+ top Wiley books in AI and analytics from globally recognised authors; and multiple hours of online lab exercises and project work.
