Available in two variants- Q Wander and Q Marshal, the Q series smartwatches can perform sleep tracking, is water resistant and has smart tap technology. It gives you access to important information like time, calls and alerts. Responding to messages from your watch by tapping the screen or using voice command, keeping a track on commute info, flights, timely reminders are other features it possess. Providing alerts for calls and messages, being swim proof are some of its pluses however, they lack a display entirely. It has a battery life of up to 6 months. They are available at a starting range of INR 7,495; while the price of smartwatches ranges between INR 21,995 to INR 22,595. Announcing the launch in India, Jack Quinlan, Senior Vice-President, APAC, Fossil Group stated, “It is our constant endeavour to offer products that not only appeal to our consumers’ sense of style but also meet their changing requirements. India is the fastest growing market in the APAC region with a CAGR of more than 40%. Smartwatches are slated to constitute about 40 per cent of wearable devices by the end of 2016 and through the launch of the new range we aim to capture a considerable share of the market.” Apart from these, Fossil announced smartwatches with the brand name Michael Kors, Skagen, Emporio Armani, and Chaps – all of which have been licensed by Fossil. A quick look onto these:
    • Michael Kors enters the connected world through Michael Kors Access and would be priced between INR 25,995 to INR 29,495.
    • SKAGEN debuts wearable space with SKAGEN Connected, a wearable technology line, priced between INR 14,295 to INR 15,495. The initial collection will include the Hagen Connected hybrid smartwatches and a Skagen Connected activity tracker.
    • Emporio Armani forayed into wearable segment with Emporio Armani Connected. The price would range between INR 17,495 and INR 27,995.
    • With a price range of INR 9,995 to INR 10,495, CHAPS brings connected hybrid smartwatch onto the table.
Given the fact that a large majority of Indian population is relatively young and are quick to adopt the latest technologies, Fossil eyes it to be a good market for wearables. India also saw the launch of Misfit Phase, a Hybrid Smartwatch by Misfit. Misfit was acquired by Fossil last year.
