Microsoft on Monday announced the launch of its third India Development Centre (IDC) in Noida. Accomplishing huge success with its Bengaluru and Hyderabad facilities, the firm is further expanding its innovation hub in Noida. The idea is to facilitate infrastructure for Indian engineers to blaze their trail and contribute to the community with new developments in the AI, cloud & enterprise, experiences & devices group, and core service engineering. Built in line with Microsoft’s global standards in Intelligent Workplace, the IDC will offer state-of-the-art facilities for researchers to work on CRM, Azure, Visual Studio, Windows ecosystem, Office 365, among others.
“We are pleased to announce the opening of our IDC in NCR. We have built a strong engineering presence in India over the past two decades and we are excited to be expanding to Noida. This represents a critical expansion of our ability to attract world-class technology talent. Our deep commitment to the region will help us further Microsoft’s mission to empower every individual and organisation on the planet to achieve more,” said Kurt DelBene, executive vice president, corporate strategy, core services engineering and operations, and the chairman of the IDC Advisory Board.
What makes this IDC special is that the company will also allow developers to research in the cloud gaming space. This is the first time any cloud gaming company is going to bring such research outside of their headquarters. As cloud gaming is heating up, this can allow Microsoft to double down on its gaming services with Indian engineers.
“The launch of IDC is another step towards our vision to be a world-class development centre and source of innovation for the next billion users. This will create opportunities for engineers to do meaningful work that will have an impact across the world,” explained Rajiv Kumar, managing director of Microsoft India Research & Development.
