Madhya Pradesh government is all set to introduce an artificial intelligence course in government schools from class 8, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said. The initiative is first of its kind in India, the CM added. The decision came after a two-day brainstorming session of the MP cabinet.
The course duration is 240 hours. The artificial intelligence course will make students ready for today’s job market.
Last week, the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH) started a pilot project with the aim to introduce AI tools in select government schools in Moinabad, Telangana. IIITH has been working with a slew of schools, and the Education Department to build AI and new-age tech solutions to increase opportunities at the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, CBSE had introduced AI as an elective subject for classes 8-10.
