The Indian IT industry is expected to generate a revenue of USD 227 billion in FY22 against USD 196 billion in FY21, the NASSCOM Strategic Review Report said. The IT industry in India is expected to register a 15.5% growth in the workforce, the highest since 2011, the report said.
The industry added 4.5 lakh new hires in the current fiscal year, the highest addition in a single year. Women accounted for 44% of the total new hires. There are 18 lakh women in the IT industry at present, the report claimed.
The Indian IT industry export revenue rose to USD 178 billion this year, growing at a rate of 17.2% from USD 151 billion last year. Domestic revenues registered a 10% growth to USD 49 billion.

Nearly 300 acquisitions were made by Indian IT companies during the year. The Indian IT services accounted for 51% of the total services exported. At the same time, new-age digital services generated a revenue of USD 13 billion.
India now has 1,430 global capacity centres, 1.4 times higher than FY15. Additionally, the direct pool witnessed a 10% increase in growth in the current fiscal year.
