Sanket Atal Appointed Salesforce’s New Managing Director For India

Salesforce has appointed Sanket Atal as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Sites (India). A company communique said that Atal will be driving the next phase of Salesforce’s growth in India with design thinking and digital strategies. Atal would be taking charge from March 15.

“Salesforce has built a phenomenal cloud ecosystem of partners and customers in India. I look forward to helping drive growth, innovation and customer success as well as delivering product innovation at a global scale, from right here in India. Given my passion and deep experience with the startup ecosystem, I am also excited to empower businesses of all sizes, particularly startups, to create future-ready solutions leveraging the Salesforce platform. It’s an awesome time to be joining the company.” said Sanket Atal. 

Speaking on Atal’s appointment, Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO and Chairperson, Salesforce India said, “These are exciting and challenging times for all of us. India is a strategic growth market for Salesforce and a world-class innovation and talent hub. As we continue to grow and guide our customers through their digital transformation journey, Sanket’s appointment is a reflection of our commitment and continued investment in India.”

Over the last few years, Salesforce has expanded its presence in India to support its growing customer base. After the USA, India has the biggest Salesforce workforce with a headcount of 4,000 employees working out of its Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore offices. Salesforce’s Hyderabad office houses the Salesforce Centre of Excellence (CoE), established in 2016. The Hyderabad CoE has been instrumental in driving innovation at Salesforce. End-to-end solutions for customers including the latest industry clouds such as consumer goods, manufacturing, Hyperforce, and financial services for insurance are built in Hyderabad.
